August 30 Girly NightTo celebrate birthday coming soon, I had a girly night on Saturday. It was bubbly and sparkling night.
---Strolling: the dinner was booked at 7:00PM, so we could have a relaxing strolling at the Rocks prior to the dinner time, pleasantly feeling breeze after a scorching day and seeing night scene of Opera House and Harbour Bridge standing different spot.
---Dinner: at La Brasserie that is a French restaurant in Darlinghurst. Yuuuuum! Cold Entree: Salad of smoked duck breast; Hot Entree: Scallops baked in pastry with lemon & cinnamon; Main meal: Roast stuffed rabbit and Spring Bay mussels steamed in white wine, leeks and herbs. All of dish I ordered had never ever been tried in any French restaurant before, so everything was new to me. In my opinion, they were doubtlessly perfect and I will not be hesitant to come again. Per handsome French waiter’s recommendation, we choose French wine which was brewed in north French. The wine was beautiful. Hi friends, it is worth to sip up there if you are interested in French style.
---Drink: The Loft at King Street. I love there it is with cosy couch and elaborate decoration. What a lovely place with spectacular views.
---Dancing: Marble Bar. The music is funky, the singers are SOOOO hot. It was interesting crowded and people highly enjoyed dancing some by flirty way. I would say it is decadent bar I have ever been. Anyway I didn’t order drink for some personal reason so no idea whether it has weak point on drink. But I believe there might be no clashing on cocktail and wine in the favourable pubs or bars.
Well, got to home about half past of three the next morning, wooohooo! another crazy nightlife and stay-up. August 26 The surgery was ridiculously cancelledI am pissed off. Fuck off! Bastard! Shit! Everything seemed scheduled. 没有人能给我答案,但我相信既然我手上都带上patient band, that means my surgery is arranged well. Are you kidding me? I can’t believe the surgery could be cancelled if it was pre-arranged. I never heard it happened in China. I asked,’why didn’t you tell me earlier?’ She said she was in the operation can’t go out to tell. But why there was no other hospital staff informed me if she knew she couldn’t make the surgery 1.5 hours ago? If you can’t make all of list why you made it?.... Although she said numberless of apology, I couldn’t contain my rage. I told her I hadn’t had a drop of water and a piece of food from 8:00AM, I took an annual leave today, my husband did too, I had to postpone my holiday plan until September to make this surgery, I had been hospital for 5 hours from this afternoon but nobody told me it was cancelled until now……What else can I do except scolding? Anyway that girl who also had waited for long time will be notified the surgery is called off unfortunately we are the same doctor’s patients. Had a hilarious Sunday, I got to be back the ground this morning. Maggie who I used to work with in BJ came to Sydney and we dated yesterday for not having seen each other over 7 years. What spectacle spots will we go to impress her? What will we have lunch and dinner to make her genuinely taste westerner food?....a few questions came into my head last week because I attempted to take full advantage of a day we are going to hang out to make her have fantastic impression as much as possible. Let me tell you how we spent the whole day.
About 10:30AM, our journey was kicked off from Hornsby by train and headed to city. The humiliating thing was I am a person who is not confident to drive to somewhere so we had to take public transportation, otherwise it would be more convenient to go to city and more far we could get to. I'd bash my head off a brick wall every time I think of 'inability' of driving, but it couldn’t stop our day trip at all. Our first stop was Paddington where is supposed to be area that you can catch up with the latest European-style clothes in boutiques. I couldn't think of a reason that girl doesn't like shopping, particularly in a foreign country, so I recommended Maggie to go to Paddington to sense it even though she looked forward to window shopping in Australia. To get to there, I led her to museum by train first and walked through famous Oxford street as she said she heard that GAY STREET. Maggie was definitely ASIAN TOUR ( I don't tease at her, the nickname was called by her Sydney resident brother who named her when he took her to Cains last week and saw her not stop shooting everywhere.) she couldn't help flashing the camera constantly when she got excited to stroll on the Oxford street. She was crazily amazed by some angles of vintage buildings that I didn't notice although passed through thousands of times. Accompanying with this photo-shooting creature, we had to move slowly, but I was happy to see how really enjoyable she was. Of course, we didn't miss hanging around a variety of shops and luckily both bought an American-style cardigan with reasonable price. In and out, shops by shops.....
All of sudden I realised we should return as we planned to go to the Rocks market. I got lost how we can go to the Sydney icon market in the Rocks from Paddington, then I rang up Lucia to let her help me check up the map to find what bus we can take to go to the Rocks. Actually I had no problem to walk to there as walking 10 KMs is a piece of cake for me, but Maggie had already been exhausted. Lucia was no doubt a good help to give me quick response as expected, quickly we arrived to the Rocks by bus after listened to the Lucia's instruction. In the Rocks market where caters for all things arts and crafts, Maggie had crushed on the market at once and can't conceal her extreme fondness and made the camera sizzling, taking a lot of pictures about authentic homewares, homemade jewelleries, accessories, and streetscape around, finally we paused at Pancakes restaurant in the Rocks to have our Lunch or dinner at 4:00PM after rounds of touring in the Rocks market. Before that, we just had milkshake at a cafe shop. See! We were too impressed by the amazing scenes to feel hungry :-).
In the restaurant, at the beginning I was hesitant for a while to think about what size of meal we will order coz I was lessened that plates in Pancakes restaurant are generally super big and basically larger than normal size plates in most of restaurants, eventually I made a decision to have a pork ribs and two pancakes for us, giving up salad as starter. During the dinner, there were a lot of old dramas jogged our memory, some friends we both know, interesting stories we went through, the unforgettable experience we went to watch drama (孟京辉《臭虫》)......Guess what? We didn’t finish our meal with beautiful and yum pancakes left on the table. Trust me, we did try our best to eat up as we are not waste girls but uncomfortable stomach blow-up triumphed thrift consciousness.
Later after dinner, I didn't mind walking to Darling Harbour where has some night pieces are worth to go especially to be taken photos. Considering Maggie’s physical strength, we just tracked along the George Street to the direction of Darling Harbour to see how far we will go, not assured she can tread to there. Moving and moving….overpassing the Apply store. Halfway, Maggie had gradually fallen apart coming up with our going ahead as she said she never had such long march until she was inspired and thrilled by QVB architecture manner when we stepped into the building with her eyes wide open. Well, on the 3rd floor, there were a few Renaissance style glad rags displayed in the show window, she looked recovered and feverishly shot pictures with each stunning dress. She was happy, I was happy.
It was close to 9:30PM when I got to home after sending her off. You know what? I didn’t feel tired a little but non-disgruntle, leaving endless missing. August 22 Homemade muffin cakeIt is the first time to make cake at home. Initially I didn’t think it will be too complicated to do if strictly comply with instruction on the package. This arvo, I went to Woolies and picked up CHOC-CHIP MUFFIN CAKE that looks easiest to be made from all of options. Taking a bag of ingredients and a wooden spoon that I will need, I headed to home without containing my excitement. I swear I mainly followed up the cooking instruction, but the result looks totally different, worse with burnt smell. That would be from the thing that I didn’t do in term of instruction, bake time was extended to 40 mins from 25 mins as required. About bake time, it is hinted with asterisk on the cooking instruction, saying used as guide only, as all ovens vary. Honestly, I had no idea at all about how my oven would work if baking as I never used that function. I didn’t turn off the power until disgustingly burnt smell was inhaled into my nose, as time had taken nearly 40 mins. I mistakenly reckoned my old oven could take longer time than fashion oven, from this lesson, I was taught it can work as well as the other ovensJ. Another thing I also need to mention is I couldn’t find cake cups in the supermarket, therefore you wouldn’t see tray lined with paper cups. So I can’t say I had a successful try to make cake. Looking at the two trays of cakes, I ask myself how far it will go….I must kill 5 units at least today living up to all my efforts.
August 11 ScribblingWOW! Unbelievable! Is that the road I used to walk? Is that the patch of sky I used to be in? The trees are those trees? The soil is that soil? ....Yup, no change. It is Olympic Park as it is. The crystal blue sky with clouds, leafy roadside, flowery area, unique-shape fountain, groups of running people in sportswears, are still there as usual. But how does it look differently today? It is presenting impressively brand-new picture. It is like I have been missing out something. You would be confused what I try to express. I just wanna say I feel everything new and fresh seeing the picture in front. Do you have experience you could miss finding some beautiful place where you used to get involved in? Do you have experience you abruptly notice a new side of something or place when you manage to look at it from different angle. Today I am thrilled by the spectacle that I have been so familiar with. All of sudden, I am pleased that I dwell in Australia that has such scenic area. In my husband's eyes, I am the type of girl who is never satisfied and always looking for bigger and better things. But a puff of sense of satisfaction comes into my head at that time, I feel it is blissful to live in Australia although I neve genuinely love this country, immediately all of bloody headaches are dispersed then, especially extremely boring just annoyed me has gone. You will further understand what I am talking if I tell you I try to kill my boiling boredom under control before I saw the scene.
I am dead bored today as there are not too many jobs to do as it is not busy time of company business. I find many colleagues look pretty quiet as well. Someone is browsing internet, someone is on the chatting call, someone is walking around without particular purpose....I don't intend to comment others just saying the truth. For me, I am happy to have enough time to read through emails from friends, fiddle with my personal phone throughout an hour even I don't mind someone would snitch, pop in MSN to talk a bit although I always get a pair of sneaky eyes to watch my back. Trust me, I don't wanna waste time on private thing at office, but it is absolutely stifling if you have nothing to do. If you were in that boring situation, you would have no stratagems as I do. Frankly, it hasn't hit me for a while when we were busy fighting for recovering business in the past couple of months. In an adult way, I should know how to deal with it not like an ant on the hot pot feeling fucking uninterested. I admit I am hopeless to get out of sucking bored. Since then, I must do something if I can, so after lunch, I go out of the office building to walk around. The path is one that I have passed through more than 100 times, but I find a new picture as described as initial saying. August 10 In My Sister's ShoesIN MY SISTER’S SHOES is the book that I am reading. I got obsessed with it at once after turned the first page. The novel is about a girl Kate who is thirty and her job is thriving but her sister Fiona is claimed to have breast cancer. At the critical time of the family, comparing going on her loved job with giving hands to the kinship, Kate chose the later one and went back hometown to look after her sister's kids, a twin of boys. As a single woman, at the beginning she didn't know how to deal with the boys, house chores, look after her sister who is struggling with chemotherapy. All that she tried to do made her worn out and lose the screed of patience but she had to gulp back tears, she went through the feeling that she didn’t get a lot of hands on tap to help her, she wound up being tempted of her favourite jobs……Having a heart-tugging, heel-busting tale of sibling love, her lifestyle has been changed totally. The most sensational segment I have read is Kate had her head bald shaved to make her sister feel better as Fiona found her hair fall out. No wonder I am absolutely impressed by that sibling love. Meanwhile, in the book, you also can see some hilarious moments that make you laugh out loud at times. Well, my reading is still going on and on, I believe it will not be long to finish it as I know I can’t wait to read the end of story. I have to say I really love the stories about family emotions and like the author Sinead Moriarty’s superb writing style, so I would like to buy her other books after this book.
It bit me brutally, so I got to resort to traditional Chinese way。 THE UGLY TRUTH,need to catch 4:40PM show at Greaterunion。到Hornsby Station, 买了个Easy Way pearl milk tea就当充饥了,因为离电影开演就不到10分钟了,rush and rush! What a funny movie! The actress is so beautiful and sexy, the theme of movie is my cup of tea….It was right 7:00PM when I left cinema. Mind you I left home 9:00AM this morning, which means it seemed a working day for me. I have had a hectic day but everything I did was no doubt I expected. How come I don't feel tired a little bit? I would say acupuncture does work very well, doesn't it? August 07 No morning show companyI have been upset after my favourite morning show got indefinitely suspended, as if I have something most like lost but was told it will take long time to get it back or it will be possibly gone forever. That kind of comfortlessness annoys me very much. It turned to routine to listen to the radio show in the morning as breakfast. Without it, I hardly start a day of working with good mood; without it, I am hopeless to find a lot of fun on air; without it, I barely catch up with the latest pop songs; without it, I really don't know what I can do on the public transportation…. You know what? Now I still put on my mobile earphone but turn down the sound so as to make me feel no change after all I have got used to being company with the morning show on the road to go to work in the morning. There is nothing worse than getting out of your habit that has been with you for decades even already became part of your life. No matter what media or audiences comment on the hosts, I like their style and the program is my cup of tea, or I might be less educated so I don’t dislike the controversial host. It is blatantly obvious that he definitely created massive laughter despite by some nasty way. Whatever, a thing has two sides—good or bad, a person could be loved or hated. Maybe he was adorable, successful and won millions of applause but if he made mistake unconsciously or by accident, it is ubiquitous that he has to suffer it. But I insist he will be back his stage where only belongs to him. I wish the program would keep its old style if it could return. Before it comes back, I look forward to have something that could bring a new dynamic to me on the way to work. August 02 Great North WalkSaturday, we, 2 girls and 2 boys, were so brilliant to make Great North walk from Cowan to Brooklyn Station, where is down to the Jerusalem Bay and then climbs along the ridge line to descend into Brooklyn. For every single junky of us, it was the unpredictable bushwalking as we didn’t know how the track would be like and how far we really could go after all it was definitely big challenge of physical strength and endurance because all of us never ever had such a long trip. WOW! The track is great one way trip with water view and a diversity wildings along the way. Starting off about 11:30AM, we went along the track with the map on the hand to refer to where we were going correctly, quickly we got to overpass the rocky bushtrack descending steeply down the valley that is supposed to be relatively easy to go. Subsequently we viewed the change in vegetation as the track gets lower into the valley winding down to the bottom until the track crosses a shallow creek over a rock shelf and comes to the faint intersection of the engravings track just on the eastern side of the creek, near a large gum tree. The route is up and down the hills, passing the rainforest, the rocks, waterline, at last it flattens out. Surprisingly there are many arrow sign to lead us on the right track, so we didn’t feel any lost on the way. We met groups of bushwalkers or climbers who were in professional mountaineering suits and with mountaineering poles. We warmly greeted each other and sent beautiful wish as we met at any spot. Interestingly enough, we were the only group that looked unknowledgeable from point of climbing, but the same interest made us link together as if we were from a big family. Halfway, one of our team member got a bit fainted and collapsed then, but he recovered soon after a short break and drunk some water, so our group didn’t drop any person or no one would like to fall behind or back down, the attitude of “WE CAN DO” with us all along. After 5 hour efforts, the destination Brooklyn train station came into our eyes, you can’t imagine how excited we were as we convinced that we can do. We were proud of our achievement and we were happy to have intriguing track. Originally we tried to celebrate at Berowra creekside, unfortunately the cafe restaurant we aimed for was closed down, but I had the first experience to take vehicle ferry that can take 12 cars each time to cross the creek. I have learnt that ferry has different types, not only for people but for vehiclesJ. BTW, I was not that tired out as I expected, just a little bit normal muscle aches. Now we are already thinking next track…. |
