August 29 New labour policy in ChinaThat's really bad news for me as Joseph told me. China has come on a new policy about hiring foreigners, which strictly confines foreigners to work in China. There must meet two conditions if a company hires a foreigner: 1. 要提供无犯罪记录证明 2. 要证明招的这个职位找不到相应的人才 . Meanwhile 要把JD 在指定的地方公布2个月.
I am very concerned about this new policy as I have been planned to go back China for working. What goodness me! Please don't make me so repentant to be an Australian citizen. I have been engulfed in shaking with fear for different kinds of thing recently. Could you give me a break or rest? Let me be less stressful. August 28 I need a good book or mentorI haven been talking with my girlfriend about tremendously impetuous mood recently I have got, so has she. It occurs periodically and makes me in emotion fluctuation. Definitely it is due to immature personality even although I subjectively attribute it to the boring Australian life. I have been hunting some encouraging books and trying to find out inspiration from some ones' experience because I reckon reading book would be helpful to get out of fickle mood. But it is not easy in here to get such a Chinese book that is more understandable to me, the magazine Qing Nian Wen Zhai is substitute at the moment. I don't refuse English books but no idea which one would be the most suitable for me currently. Anyhow, I wish I could find resonance in spirit or sympathy from reading.
August 25 Beijing Olympic Games is overThe 29th Olympic Games was coming to end by the way of simply spectacular closing ceremony last night. The same to watch opening ceremony, I was locked in front of TV and broadly opened the eyes until it was finished midnight not missed any amazing instant. It was really hilarious just like a big party, athletes and volunteers were flooding into the host venue, and they looked fairly excited. There was no doubt about director Zhang Yi Mou's super talent and wisdom. He rocked the world twice by opening and closing ceremony and added lustre to China to make the entire world respect it. 16-day Olympic Games created a bunch of magic, breaking world record, Michael Phelps’ 8 gold medals……it reaped treasure and rewards that can let Chinese and people in the world share. No wonder controversial saying about it exists, but I love the words that IOC's President Jacques Rogg praised Beijing Olympic Games, "a glass is either half full or half empty and I believe it is half full. Time will tell whether it is long-lasting."
With the TRULY EXCEPTIONAL Beijing Olympic Games gone, my recent daily concern has gone to nowhere and the focus needs to be converted to something else, so I begin to look for a new attention centre….. August 24 Try to enjoy the weekendI felt very empty this morning and couldn’t find anything I was interested in to do, and then all of sudden extremely was fed up with Australian boring life. Upon that I decided to go shopping or buy some books to kill it right now, rang up girlfriends as many as I can, unfortunately they all happen to coincide to be pretty busy at the moment. Okay, hanging out by myself was not a bad thing for me who has got used to shopping myself. Rapidly I cleaned up myself and went out to catch the train. On the train, I enjoyed the time that reading book and the sunshine covering me, which is one of my favourite things at the leisure time. Guess what? I prefer to reading book on the train than lying in the bed at home. See! Through it, I started going out of blue mood. Arriving city, QVB was the first stop, where I bought a birthday gift for girlfriend, then walked into Myer and David Jones to search a pair of shoes I had expected to buy for a while, unluckily there was not my style out there. It had taken me a couple of hours and my depression had gone already. Going to EasyWay to have my bubble drink, a bottle of pearl milk tea further helped me forget all of vexation and make me inflated at once. Finally I got to book shop to purchase two novels----Seven types of ambiguity and Lindbergh’s Legacy. Holding them, I turned to be buoyant completely then. All right, it was 5:00PM and time to go home. A free bird should go back cage.
BTW, besides love reading book on the train, I have another thing like to do at free time. It is listening to music in the taxi. Working on weekend was quite normal for me when I was working in China and I was often worn out after that on the way home, then that was the most relaxing time for me as I sit in the taxi to listen to Beijing Traffic Radio. I would like to close the eyes and utterly enjoy the popular songs that embraced me and drove away tiredness. As if the taxi drive knew me and not interrupt me at that time, so I would have been grateful for his understanding. Miss that time and try to enjoy current time……
August 23 Go-green bagToday we practically used Go-Green bag for shopping at Coles. Last weekend we decided to apply environmental bag but forgot to take it, so today actually was the kick-off day. We have noticed a great number of Australian using it during grocery shopping at supermarket, they are delighted to see checkout person put stuff into that bag fully. Their behaviour had exerted a subtle influence on us for a period of time and we admired their commitment to global environment until we really took it into action. Go-Green bag has a sturdy base and can hold more than a standard plastic bag. It is said that reusable green bags have got the nod over biodegradable plastic bags because it was found many degradable bags did not break down. It is easy to clean and be recycled, so it has been widely acceptable by increasing Australian housewives and environment-protection advocators.
15 years ago, brother-in-law brought back a cotton bag from German that was already taken into practice out there. It gave my family a curiosity as we saw at the first time and we were truly shocked by Germany’s sense of environment protection. Additionally, 10 years before, my husband found Japanese were forced to use green bags while they paid plastic rubbish bags. Nowadays, China, as the biggest population country, is calling for ordinary people to give up plastic bags to use green bags. Definitely it is good phenomenon. There is no doubt that green bags will be more and more blooming all of the world and thoroughly replace plastic bags one day. So, would you like to join in the team now?
August 22 Idol and meI couldn't conceal the grin as I secondly heard that I a little bit look like my role mode----Xu Jing Lei. My god! I can't believe there would be some ones say that. That was definitely the best compliment for me. Xu Jing Lei is so cooooool that she has special characters that others don't have......I never thought I would have any possibility that we look alike, maybe we have nothing in common except dark face skin colour so it might mislead some friends think I look like her a bit.:-) So what! I love hearing that. It would be great if I had the same height, body figure, face structure........Probably you ask me why I like her very much. The kind of adoration is totally from gut feeling, like is like, there is no why, there is no words to explain. My husband always teases at me how much incredibly I like her and why I take it granted that she is my idol just judging her on superficial appearance. In his opinion, she is only a common actress and the same to other popular actresses who are f@#ked by those rich men or male celebrities. No those men, no her current. I argued with him for it was jealous of what he couldn't get hold of. LOL! No matter what he said was true or not, apparently there is no less favor that I have to Xu Jing Lei. I love her for no reason and look forward to having more similar sides with her. Redundancy againIt was the second round of company redundancy that there were 50 colleagues has gone after the first time had 90 persons redundant. It will happen the third time if this month sale performance is not good enough. I have been again got involved in that unstable working environment. Why was the reality so brutal? I am not sure when it will happen on me. God bless with me! August 21 Evening Primrose OilUnder the suggestion of doctor, I started using Evening Primrose Oil to relief the period headache and hope it will work on it. According to description on the bottle label, it would do something on: relieving PMS (Premenstrual syndrome) symptoms; managing eczema; temporary relief of arthritic pain. PMS has been accompanied with me for decades, which has occurred regularly pre-menses, during and post-menses. That headache was so severe that it almost killed me every time, coupled with vomit and strong fear of light and sound. It really sucked. A Chinese doctor told me I have high hormone level that could cause me persistent headache. I tried to have Chinese medicine but condition did not change a bit. Now I wish it would save me from badly boisterous headache. Let me see how it goes. I am aliveVery happy that I have been gradually recovered from 5-day fever last week. In the past 10 days, I wouldn't like to speak to buddies, read the loved book, listen to the favourite radio shows, watch TV programs even currently hot Olympic Games, as my last energy was drained out to struggle with those bloody flu viruses. I did go to work and sit at the office as usual, but my mind wasn't there and couldn't concentrate on anything sometimes ignoring my manager’s request just giving her no-reacting eyes. I was insensitive to most of things and looked sallow. It was not bad that I got short cease to keep away from those snacks as I had no thriving appetite at all. But an unenergetic girl who used to get used to biting all the time at work really couldn't support that whole day’s job without snacks, so today I had to buy a bar of chocolate and hot chocolate drink to sustain myself at the working frontline. No doubt I must supplement nutrition to make up the loss, planning to buy fatty roasted BBQ duck, ice cream moon cake on weekend…… Now I am spirited and back on track, look! Again write something in the blog….
August 13 I am sickEventually I was infected flu by my dear colleague who has had crook more than 3 weeks. I guess she will be alright soon. According to Chinese old saying, your disease will be cured quickly as long as you infect to others. I have coughing, serious soar throat, a little bit cold, extremely tired......I started having antibiotic medicine from this morning....The whole day I don't know that I have done, only remember I have kept drinking water cup by cup, going to toilet one by one. Hope accelerating metabolism could work on getting those virus out of the body......soar throat, dry cough and headache annoying me... August 12 Olympic Games is onNumerous Australian are commenting on the Australian uniform at the Beijing Olympic Games Opening ceremony. :-) They said it did look awful. Disappointment to the colour and style was intensified as they saw American athletes looked so great in their uniforms.......The despaired Australian couldn't understand why chose that uniform as Australia has a string of good designers.....while some Aussie thought there was not much wrong about uniform. In my point of view, definitely, it was not a big deal, I was a little disappointed with Chinese uniform, but principally there is nothing can satisfy all of people. August 09 开幕式奥运开幕式让全球人震撼,让中国人骄傲,让我自豪!Its incredibly amazing! 兴奋地看完了3小时,今天早上爬起来打开电视看有没有重播,可惜不是在中国,没有!于是上网看录像......百看不厌!呵呵!仍在回味中..... August 08 Funny things in regards to the Olympic GameThere are some things interesting in regards to Beijing Olympic Game. 1. Bi Yun: As thousands of people come to Beijing from other cities and countries, while some Beijingers have opted to leave town on what’s jokingly called a ‘biyuntao’---'avoid Olympics package', which the rhythm with the Chinese word condom. My good girlfriend is now in Xin Jiang kicking off her vocation to be far out of Beijing. 2. Volunteers: Another phenomena in Beijing is a great number of Beijingers are joining the volunteer public-security monitors, they are enthusiastic to do the job and absolutely devoting to Olympic game. e.g. today my mum didn’t sound to be interested in speaking with me, because she was rushing to be on her duties at that time I phoned her. She was going to walk around the street, keep eyes on strangers. …See! That’s a typically accountable volunteer. 3. Lucky number ‘8’: Chinese people find the 8's highly desirable for cellphone, license plate because its pronunciation sounds like the word of wealth... now it turns to Olympic opening ceremony date 8:00PM 08/08/2008. In Beijing, more weddings are being held than usual on 8th August, even hordes of couples tied the knots across Australia, they also believe the number 8 would bring them good luck and fortune. Wish you happy marriage!
Cervix polypTwo months after receiving Pap smear reminder letter, I just made it yesterday. It had been nearly 2.5 years since last check made by that handsome male Western doctor in our suburb. Anyway, I had tried to book an appointment at Hurstville medical centre two months ago, but they didn't practically arrange it although I booked in advance by phone, which I mentioned in previous posted. Yesterday, I went to Burwood medical practice under the suggestion of Emily who has got good service there, Doctor Huang recommended looked busy and saw three patients before making my deal at 9:50 AM although my time should have been 9:30AM. That's OK, I have already got used to this kind of working style in Australia---everyone doesn't care others' time. Her attention to my any inquiry and her check on my woman's organ made me have no comment on her attitude and knowledge. Pap smear, pelvic examination…..What the hell she told me I have had cervix polyp. I don't know how it came.......maybe my organs are getting old.....I was advised to see obstetrician after I get Pap smear result next Friday. Also, I required having blood test and urine test, then Doctor Huang gave me a form and sent me to Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology for it. I had no feasting so there was not a problem to do blood test. The nurse in Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology told me she only could do blood rest no urine test because the form didn't say that. That's OK. Please do what you could do. Blood was taken from vein, the first tube, the second, and the third, done! Very weird that I begun to feel backache after left medical centre, was it naturally spirit reaction? I will see how it goes…... August 06 We have something in common---hate annoying commutersThis morning, I came cross my colleague Herman again who just started taking bus from Strathfield instead of taking train, because he used to miss the 8:30 AM train going to Olympic Park then get to the office later after 9:00AM. Following by my suggestion, he feels more comfortable as he has more traffic transportation to choose at Strathfield station then. We randomly chat as we waited for the bus coming. His great great parents were German, Dutch.....his parents went South Africa, afterwards he came to Australia......we talked about how South African language come from......He is really a typical European, gentleman, religious…What a coincidence that we simultaneously complained the school girls on the train. If you are a commuter, you would notice some ones always sit the same spot or fixate somewhere on the train. However, you would possibly meet something annoying, such as some school boys and girls who would like talking out loud, as if there is no one around them. For me, I get used to getting on the second first carriage of the train that will be right stopped at the side of platform exit where is convenient for me to rush into other platform for changing the train. Unfortunately, a few school girls who have been fallen across by me at the same train every morning like that carriage as well, they made heaps of noise on the train, which always drew other passengers’ attentions and raised heads to look at them. From the passengers’ eyes and gentle frowning, I could see how much sick you were of it. On the train in the morning, it is valuable time for us, we can have a nap, we can read a fascinating book, we can enjoy appealing music......We really don't like being distracted by those disgusting noise.....Herman has had the same situation to me, he told me he often met a school girl likes speaking aloud, then he normally kept away from the door to alienate her if he found that school girl standing at the door of the carriage. But her aggravating loudness still disturbed him, he said he freaked out and very wanted to stop her but worried to get slap by the girl. She drives him nuts. Haha! .....We have something in common, both hate speaking-loudly school girls on the train, like reading the book on the train......
August 03 Cafe shop has been closed downIt is well known that Starbucks announced that it would close 61 out of its 84 outlets in Australia by Sunday. Today I went to Hornsby Westfield, seeing the store located at the corner of the ground floor have been shut down. The shop looked very quiet with all of lights off, the chairs were piled on the tables, sundries set inside need to be cleared up…...Previous café franchise that created prosperity in Australia has gone. I didn’t go to Starbucks quite a few in Sydney just for having a cup hot chocolate for brief break never had coffee as my hearts had heavily flustered reflection to caffeine. But I love the environment there, where gave me a relaxing space to enjoy myself. I used to take pleasant time by myself in Starbucks in Beijing, where as if I could have exoticism I really expectedJ. I am curious why it would end up it’s nearly 80% outlets in Australia. It is said that one of reason is that it had expanded too quickly in Australia. A few years ago there weren't that many of them, but all of a sudden, they were everywhere. Supposedly the relative management couldn’t catch up with the business developing speed, then a string of issues turned up and couldn’t be coped with. Another purported reason is that it was not more impressed by the product, making comparison with the numerous local cafes, but the customers would be less inclined to spend money on luxuries. At all events, what a pity to see Starbucks’ stores cut down, so wish the last 23 outlets in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will keep Starbuck original style, still be sparkling. Very thank you, my sisterHope I will be leading Sydney fashion in the summer by putting on those dresses purchased by my dear sister in Beijing. I have to admit she had special insight on picking them up among extraordinarily massive boutiques. To delight me, she sent through the pictures right after she bought them. My extreme missing Beijing has been eased up while my latest concentration is on waiting for the dresses posted to me soon. I am thrilled and very thankful for her no-spare efforts on shopping to make me happy. I can imagine how much she had to suffer under the high humidity and stinking hot weather as she walked around the street. I reckon, having a loved old sister is categorically lucky thing, which is better than if I am in a one-child family or have a brother. She can be able to think about what I feel and try her best to make me glad. Hi sister, I love you, XOXO!
August 02 Green PlateThis morning I passed the HPT, then updated drive license from Red Plate to Green Plate. Good on meJ. I read through tips found in the internet, which summered up by a number of Chinese who attended the HPT but some failed, some passed, so those hints are very helpful for a person who are going to have the HPT at the first time when they are not familiar with the way and structure of the test. With those tips, you would avoid lots of errors that you shouldn’t make. More importantly, it describes some details of each question that you are likely to neglect as you sit in front of the computer especially you are likely to be nervous a bit during the test. Anyway, the handbook download is also useful for further understanding the test.
For celebrating my successful pass, I bought a denim pants and a blue-striped shirt after test where I had the test in a Rockdale Plaza. Hooray!
