    Australian passport application

I really blew up by the experience of Australian passport application. I made an appointment for passport application interview with local post office and I arrived there on time with the documents I should bring down, including photos, application form, ID, Medicare card, citizenship certificate and etc. Guess what? The post officer told me two things I need to fix up. The first thing was the size of the face on the photo didn't accord with the required measurement indicated on the application form. Actually the pictures were shot in Sydney when I updated my Chinese passport last year, so the pictures should have been taken it for granted to be in line with the passport photo specification. I emphasized on this point to the man, but he refused to receive it. No reason! You know what then? The photos I took in China were OK when I passed on to him however I had not thought it would be alright while its colour was blue not light as required. What the hell of the post officer's head? The second thing was I must provide the document that could prove relationship between my mum and me. Why? He pointed that there was a question about my mum's maiden name on the application form, so I had to produce the document to prove it. My lord! This kind of question is pretty ordinary could be in anywhere for all kinds of application, e.g.bank account, credit card, tax file number, driver license in regards to private question in case you forget your pin number. Normally we don't need to provide any document. But I didn't know why the post officer asked me to do that. It was really bloody ridiculous. I tried to argue with him, finally he had to let me supply Chinese passport instead which was not related to the document he requested at all, but informed me that I might sustain any delay. Shit! There is never ever a friend of mine had such a kind of issue as they applied for Australian passport. The post officer was killing me.

Wish I could get my passport without other trouble.

    Another miserable day

I still couldn't help sobbing today although I tried to remind myself, 'you should have got used to it, not be too afflictive.' but the tears of sorry rolled out and all of self-control was gone as I saw my friend colleagues leave one by one. The one sit in front of me left, the one right next to me left......another colleauge went into the meeting room with the manager, a few minutes later, he walked out the meeting room and headed to his desk and collected his personal stuff, then......the girl was lowering her head and doing out her table......the bloke departured but it doesn't mean he stops raiseing his two kids and paying home loan.....

Some team has not had any action late of this arvo, but each team member is in anxiety and guesses who would be of the team sloughed off on Mon. I suppose their weekend might be prodigiously lengthy compared with last weekend.

How come? There are always somethings are not easy to be understood that completely.

    Company redundancy kicks off

Our company redundancy kicks off, my colleague in our team was suddenly asked to leave this arvo. Then we will see more colleagues and friends leave in other teams, other departments soon. :-( Now the company is at the period of downturn, the whole company has to tight the belt, all of departments are on diet. Actually, I am not unfamiliar with this sort of thing, I used to get involved in organising this kind of torture rack of company event as I was working in Lenovo. I unanimously understand the company could have to carry on shrinking the cost as the business runs not well, and particularly some companies would probably suffer it after the business went through a fast growing-up era and sliding down from peak. Notwithstanding I still feel sorry for my colleagues whose eyes were full of despondent and anguished though they pretended to be tough on the face.

I haven been extremely busy since yesterday, my eyesball falling out, I had enough now. What for? Everything assigned in my hands was supposed to be on fire, I had to handle them within the shortest time, turning something impossible to possible. Since company is in special phase, I need to shut down the mouth and not whindge anything about work at the moment, at least ostensibly succumb the company.:-) Stressful jobs are in some ways good, in some ways bad. Good thing is that I could feel time have gone so quicky, bad thing is that I get tired of my jobs, so I should think by the former way, right? Meanwhile can I assume my position is indispensable and I am still required in the company?

    Abandoned batteries

I happened to find a big box of flat-out batteries left at kitchen room downstairs. They are not available for the working machines but their little remainder power can be used for my radio, so I grabed a few to my desk. I believe they can support me to listen to radio for at least a couple of months. Actually I have already used up the batteries I bought from China and I am using rechargeable batteries as I noticed 5# batteries are not cheap in Australia and it would be big expense for me. Now, those supposed dying batteries are definitely good stuff in my eyes. :-)

Bao Zi
    anyway,如果这包子是我做的多好啊!

    Disappointed with medical centre service

I really got grumpy by Hurstville medical centre service. What happened? I booked an appointment by telephone three weeks ago with a doctor who is specialist on gynecology. When I got to there, I was told they didn't have my appointment record and asked me whether I had appointment card. What's worse, they told me that doctoc doesn't have any booking on weekend unless wait in queue on weekdays. Jesus Christ! What the hell! If I came to see you make an appointment, why called you? If the doctor is not available for any preappointment, why you confirmed the time you made three weeks before. Your answer was so short without any apology then you turned back on me. Did you consider my feeling? I cancelled all of possible schedules at that day just for leaving time to make the appointment. I freaked out.

This kind of incident is typical in Australia, I heard it also happened on my friends. Additionally one of my friends had some experience that drove them nuts. A friend's son get 39.5C fever then went to emergency department at midnight. They waited for 4 hours in the hospital finally they could see doctor. Maybe not a high-fever patient in China can allow to wait for such a long time, but here it is pretty ordinary. Is it bureaucratism? or Australian doctocs don't think it is a big deal for general disease. Guess what then? The doctor advised the little boy to put off the clothes to cool off the body temperature. Can you imagine the mum's reflection? She absolutely couldn't believe what she heard. If you were born in China, you would never accept this sort of treatment. But western doctors have totally different understanding in curing fever to Chinese doctors. What a shocker! I have another story that my colleague’s friend had a surgery that was rescheduled trice without providing any reasonable explanation just saying that doctor couldn’t make it. However, if you are dying, you would have a big concern and swiftly be sent emergent treatment.

Okay, I live here, I must comply the rule and unconditionally believe the doctos. Today I make an appointment with a dentist on 07 July, hope there will not the same kind of thing occur. Otherwise, I will kill them :-)

    Kind colleague

This morning, my colleague treated me a cup of hot chocolate. No reason for it, just likes doing it. :-) It is nonetheless boring job I am doing, I really love my team members we help and support each other. When I get frustrated, they would give me encouragement words or hugs, when I am busy in working, they would let me take a break, when I do something for them, they would be genuinely grateful for me. We do care each other. There are several reasons that you stay in a company, salary, career development, company culture, management style, colleague rapport. Whatever for any reason, keep good mood in working is the most important. Working in a family environment, you would feel comfortable and relaxed although you are not satisfied with your pay :-) It is unachievable to have all that you expect.

China is a good country to go

Rudy told me he was not use to put China in his country list that he looked forward to visiting, normally America, Europe are priority for most of Australian. But he changed his mind after he went to Beijing for company business activity a few years ago, he refreshed his head and acknowledged that China is an amazing country and really worthy to go.  Very nice to hear that. :-) After all I am a Chinese and proud of my homeland is being loved by person in other country. Actually, a lot of westerners have wrong impression about China where is undeveloped society, undereducated people, dirty streets, unclean foods.....but I believe you would love it at once when you touch down the piece of earth in China. The skyrocketing change in China has been appalling and shocking out of your imagination,  I can't give you a snapshot picture of current China, worrying I would have emotional inclination to talk about it. Principally, any word is nothing better than your eyes.

So don't grease your ears by massive unobjective reports or comments about China, go for visiting there. You won't regret, trust me:-)

    Sex and the city

The movie is funny, girly, and sex. I know there is TV series even which is very popular in China, but I never watched it. I heard the reason that the movie is so popular with women is because on a fundamental level it is based in reality. I have been curious about the movie and tried to find out why many fans are crazy for it since I head the film is going to be revealed. More importantly, my female Australian idol, Jackie O, who especially likes it doesn't matter whether she just goes for her public promotion anyhow.

I never lived in New York. Generally, no experience, no saying. But based on my experience of 4-and-half-year overseas life, so I modestly comment the movie. I would say it might typically refects the female New Yorker’s lives before get married. In my point of view, for unmarried western girls, they usually go out with their girlfriends, talk graphically about sex, and have sex with the guy if meet an attractive and loved man. I remember my previous manager Kate who is Australian girl told me her private girl party that is mainly regarding sex talk and action. Similar to the characters in the movie, in the true life, most of career women in their thirties who have great jobs, go out drinking cocktails, and have sex with different people, just because they haven't found that Mr Right to settle down with. Once they stably hook up with the boyfriends, their lives focus might overwhelmingly leverage to family. See! that's the western girls. (anyway, sex liberty is spreaded in China, but I don't think some Chinese girls really understand the meaning. After all, western countries have had a sex education system for at least half a century and family know how to give their kids right instruction when the kids enter puberty)

In the movie, Carrie Bradshaw is a writer and has unique fashion sense, her entangled wedding with Mr. Big has annoyed her but finally she acknowledged what she needs in love and Mr. Big knows how much she means to him. Charlotte York is conservative girl and more like a common girl in my mind. The words she said to Big-'I curse the day you were born!' really shocked me and but which makes her demure character apparently. Miranda Hobbes, a lawyer, respected career woman, couldn't stand her husband Steve one-night stand especially hurted by the description of sex with the girl it was killing him. Definitely it is unacceptable for her and fairly disgusting thing in her eyes. But seperation could't hedge Steve's love to her and she realises that she loves him too, some unhappiniess between them would better to be ignored and fade away. Samantha Jones, a business woman, I have to say she is the most sex-drive of the foursome. Her genuine attitude to sex and friends is lovely. All in all, each dramatis personae has their own characters, you couldn’t dislike them.

I do love the fashion shoes and dresses in the movie which could represent new fashion trend. Those big bands’ design really got me thrilled and drives me to extremely wanna imitate the style. But I think the fashion kind of steals the movie’s essence or director technically aims at presenting a fashion movie to audience just like the movie---The devil wears Prada. Whatever, there is nothing could make everyone like it or meet everyone’s taste. The critical thing is to manage to seek what mostly you are in interested in the movie. Fashion? Sex life? Love? Actors? Funny talk?........

If let me give the rating, I would say 6 out of 10.

    Australian female role model

I have got Australian female role model---Jackie O who is the host of morning show Kyle and Jackie O and currently of Big Brother on Channel 10 at Sunday night. I used to agree with John Howard that Big Brither was a stupid TV program, but now I can't turn to my back on it for the sake of Jackie O though Big Brother is not a fantastic gig in my mind. I can't refuse to watch her. Believe it or not, there is no doubt her appearance might add more scores on that show for some of audience like me who is the one that extremelly like her. Not only she is gorgeous always with her choice of clothing sparks speculation, but are her neighbour-girl characters and host style real my taste----eloquent, quick responce and and importantly affinity. I don't wanna grudge good words on her as a big fan. Comparing morning radio show with Big Brother, I would say she has more chances to represent herself on morning show due to different program's theme, demand, style, something is kind of like that one is indispensable breakfast, one is weekend party dinner. In 3-hour morning time, her voice, her language, her influence can't distract your attention and would be a maget to drive you brain to go with them wherever you are. Of course her co-host Kyle is brilliant as well you can feel they are on same wavelength. (BTW, I already talked about how crazy I love to listen to the Kyle and Jackie O show in the morning at the previous posted diary). Now I just again say Jackie O is undisputed queen of morning time radio. Liking someone is no reason somehow, often concern how she is going, where she is going......Anyway, wish her to embark on her new phase of life to have a baby:-). Good Lucky her!

Currently I don't mind having another role model Jackie O, plus Xu Jinglei and Yang Lan. Ouch! All of them are female.

    We regret....

I happened to meet my neighbour, the Greek lady living in No.4 of our street. She told me the police officers will bury the old man of No.5 and clear up his house next week as they failed to find any old man's relatives since his death last October. It has been 8 months he hasn't been buried. Nobody can wait for the time the old man's family would appear with any possibility, and would see that his house is full of disgusting smell and ruderal is sprawling and booming in his yard. I told the lady I still couldn't get out the shadow that I didn't give the oldie's the hand when I kind of felt his last time, I should have done something but I did not.....as well the lady told me it was her to ring up police as she noticed she had not seen the oldie around a week then police found that he passed away in his house. She regreted not to call police as early as possible. I absolutely understood her feeling, actually we are under the same umbrella. I had to say,'you already did what you could do.'

A poor old man, we wish you had a peaceful death.
