March 27 Life philosophy"There is nothing either good or bad," Hamlet said, "but thinking makes it so."
BTW, some of my friends think I become more and more like a philosopher. J What do you reckon? I am not a whinger, but....Through two days efforts, finally I worked out U.S.A. and Australia cash-on-sale, the main huddle was from credit team. My lord, it should have been a tiny thing but it spent me heaps of time and got me big headache due to credit manager unclearness. I was like a ball threw between credit manager and finance manager. Then, I, a small potato, had to seek financial director. The shocking thing was financial director was also not clear for that issue, driving me to jungle with financial manager and credit manager. Although I did not have much knowledge about finance and accounting knowledge, I reckoned that should be so simple thing as long as you have a little finance commonsense. However why I got a little frustrated during the process of dealing with it? I think the one reason was undefined responsibilities between two teams, meanwhile I was desperate for exposure of some managers‘s mindlessness. I am not a whinger, but ….For most employees, I believe that they would rather work with experienced and intelligent managers though the wage is not very high than work for besotted managers but salary is alluring.
Where are those talented managers? Hate sleeplessI have to say I am a superwoman. Why? I didn't sleep last night because I had serious insomnia. Luckily I didn’t feel drowsy the next day due to a busy day. Wooow! I am like a robot with perpetual battery. The only I concern is my face skin would be dry and more wrinkle would come out shortly.:-(((( March 24 Easter holiday四天的Easter Holiday马上结束了,想想这几天,过得还真快。去了Royal Natioanl Park,吃了火锅、上海菜,打了羽毛球和篮球,看了一个朋友的新房,好充实!越来越向往天上掉馅饼的日子。 March 21 Chinese of my age lost in AustraliaMy gal pal told me a story about her girlfriend, but I think it is typical Chinese in Australia who came to here for study and got PR (permanent residency) then completely lost where they settle down. March 19 Instant impressionI fretted out of the jobs, went out of the office, suddenly got stunned by a charming scene. She wraps cardigan across her chest, tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, leaning to the wall with a cigarette in her hand. What a beauty at the moment........ Office dramaI had battled with Thailand colleagues, our warehouse for several days for missing hard drives. Our warehouse sent out 5 pieces by DHL but put 3 ones on invoice, then Thailand insisted they only received 3 units instead of 5 units. I had to look into a round of warehouse including all of paper record history, but there was not apparent evidence that they did pack 5 units into a box. On the contrary, the wrong number on the commercial invoice couldn't support them. It was worse off that they didn't weigh the product but estimated the weight. So......The supervisor of warehouse looked disgruntled and undeserved as I told the whole story and forwarded the feedback from Thailand, as if Thailand colleague was a rat doubting his subordinator. Actually, my words used were very cautious in order to avoid any implication of suspicion on him and his team. It was OK that I didn't trigger any quarrel during the discussion. You know, it needs communication skill to work out some kind of embarrass-easily-generating issue with whoever is internal or external out of company. To be honest, I had a little doubt about our warehouse but I would be on the side of Australia. Afterwards, the warehouse manager came over to further verify that their staff 100 percentage output 5 pieces and advised me to double check with Thailand side. Actually I had already done with confirmation of 3 units. LOL! Through this case, I have to say that every manager would like to protect his/her department kids. It is understood though. Last morning, Thailand’s posted email with apology informing me they found out the missing 2 units. Then our warehouse manager popped on swiftly and told me how correct he was. Drama!!!!!! ahhah! Thailand, gotcha! March 18 PasserbyThis morning I met that Indian guy at Strathfield bus station again, we normally take same bus to Olympic Park, he is working in QBE which is just next to our company. Remember, last week he actively said hello to me on the bus and then we briefly introduced each other. Today, on the bus he side sit in front of me leaning on the window and I could glimpse that he wanted to speak to me while I lowered my head reading magazine. I am the person who like enjoying own time on the way to work, don't like chatting or noticing others around, so I pretended not to observe his intention to ice break. But he interrupted me by saying 'how is your job', I feigned not to hear just keeping reading the mag. Guess what? He raised his voice and tried to catch me attention. Gosh! I had to put off earphone and said 'sorry, I am listening to the radio. I didn't hear you' and succinctly answered with ‘I am good, thank you'. I didn't reckon that he was interested in making a friend with me but he only felt very bored on the long way to work and also curious to know what I am working. However his enthusiasm of tattling with me was poured cold water by my cool character. :-) The first of all, I really hate Indian although he/she is very kind. Secondly, I don't like making friend at the street. Finally, it is disgusting to annoy me as I am sunk in something I especially like such as my favourite mag, please don't get me to chuck my tantrum. March 13 Cashmere MafiaLong time no watch TV, only immersed in Chinese DVD, just happened to watch new feminist soap opera Cashmere Mafia on channel 9 last night. Had heard about it and kind of knew it is regarding to official women. Cashmere’s quarter includes a hotel chief, and investment bank, a marketing executive and magazine publisher. Their characters are different but all expose that official women are independent and nominated. It is too early to comment each role and accurately make a summary their unique personalities after 40 minutes attention. But I can sense appoint that they, successful women, put on sleek attire, right handbag or shoes with fun, the real glamour in life is achievement. I will try to keep watching the show then and hope to have chemistry as friends. :-) March 11 Be strongI have to say I really have had a wave after wave unlucky things to confront these two years. Every single matter is the first time I have to face and must deal with. No one could instruct me how to figure out, or I can’t ask someone else for help because others couldn’t think from your side. There are some things miserable taking a while to slough off in your mind, there are some things you have to pay off, there are some things you can breeze, there are some things you are not panic but worried, there are some things you don't understand but I do.
What I can do is to clear up my mind, not muss up my disordered heart more. Believe that more experience you have, more mature you are.
In contemplation…..strengthen up! March 09
March 07 Eating everywhere, shopping everywhereA couple of days ago I went to a Thai Restaurant DOY TAO in which is in Newtown. It is authentic Thai food, very yum and worth to try, especially seafood, not very salty, not very served with stock, which is suit for me who don't like briny very much. Anyway, the environment and service of restaurant are not bad. Go for it!
Thursday I had a dinner with my friends in Eastwood. The restaurant was nominated by friends, mainly Cantonese style but the price and flavor are OK. For a four-person set dinner, there was 5 courses and a pot of soup, so we had full of, even the leftover could be for friend couple' lunch of next day. I don't want to comment too much comment about the dinner, however I would say Eastwood is a good place for grocery shopping. It was the first time I visited Eastwood suburb although I have heard there are a lot of Chinese live and it is supposed to be centre for Chinese people who live in Northern Sydney to purchase fresh and cheap Asian-style veggies and stuff. As well some Korean shops strongly attracted me to splash out money, I bought a big bag of Korean snacks which are not expensive as I expected. Plus, some Korean restaurants, Sushi Train and Vietnam gourmets there look good crowded with customers. If you like living a place that is convenient for Chinese-stuff shopping and eating, Eastwood might be one of choices. Haha! I am kind of like an Eastwood advocator now.
Address: 543 King Street Newtown, New South Wales 2042 Chuck a sickiI didn't go to work Wednesday but took a sick leave although no disease I really got. I just felt very tired and my body has been flat out recently by some disgusting people and things. In that morning, I temporarily made a decision to visit Penny’s home sending her the books I recommended her.
I was dropped to her home around by Phil, and Penny picked me up. We had a good chat up before lunch, afterwards, she treated me a yum lunch with fry lamb kidney and preserved egg and mince pork conjee. Of course I got full of until couldn’t stand up. Then we watched Warlords just for my idol Xujinglei.:-) To be honest, I did not like Xujinglei’s acting in that movie, she was too cool and modern to be in ancient costume. Whatever, I would like to enjoy as long as there is something related to idol.
The day went off so quickly, I would be goddamnit if I took another day off.
March 02 Eastern Beach Coast WalkThis arvo, Ning and I had a walk along the eastern beach where is deemed the most beautiful walk lane in Sydney. We set out from Bronte, ended in Cooge beach, and then returned the start, which took us 3 hours. On the way, we talked about the gossip on ourselves and Ning said how she went throught Spring Festival in Beijing, meanwhile we didn't forget to stop for a while looking at big wave hit the bank. Three hours walking was not a kind of boring thing, very fun! It is very worth to have a beachside walk there. I swear you wouldn't regret. |
