Susan is telling me something about how Italian would do before Easter Day, during and after. 

 

Ash Wednesday--- is 40 days before Easter Day and Italian Catholic would make decision to give up something they like and do it from that day to Easter Day, which represents how respectful and honest you are to Jesus. E.g. if you love watching TV, you have to leave it for a short period if you are a real Catholic and don't want to disobey your belief. How far will you go?

 

Palm Sunday--- is one week before Easter Day. On that day you go to church and will be given palm tree tied a circle then you can put it aside the pic that is your relative who passed away. 

 

Easter Friday---they will go to church but have no meat only seafood and some other tucker are available. Bloody banana!

 

Easter Sunday---they will get released and have a big meat dinner for celebration of Jesus revival.

 

 

On Saturady, 24th March at 2:00, I was invited to Penny's baby shower where was at the Victoria Room at Darlinghurst. Firstly I need to announce the baby shower doesn't mean the baby was born but is coming. Is that bizarre? Most of my friends even Penny's in laws showed their surprise as they heard the time would be held. It doesn't matter as long as we female as Penny's close friends can enjoy the time before Penny really steps into her motherhood.

 

I can't wait to describe how it was. That was traditional typical English High Tea. Maureen who is pommy told me High Tea is a kind of high-class social activity and always used by Queen's personal circle. Tea etiquette is very dainty and guests should dress up and act and speak decently and politely. Gosh! All right, don't take it so seriously.It is just a small and casual female bash in my mind and right gave me a chance to experience different culture, huh? I ingored Penny's reminder to dress up only got me in a flowery short-sleeve jacket and white skirt. Ahha!

 

It was earlier when I arrived and the door was closed, so I had to have a glass of orange juice at cafe shop oppositely. Then I took advantage of the time to have a look around. The shops located at the Victoria Street and other streets in Darlinghurst are more like European style. Whether cafe shops or boutiques are decorated with vintage European painting and distribution. People sitting inside or hanging around looked so relaxed and looked like European from thier appearance and wearing. I thought as if I was palcing myself in Europe as my dream traveling world around hadn't become true.

 

At 2:00, the door was open. Anyway, I guessed punctuality is a sort of European habbit. Telling reception what I was for thenI was led to the table Penny ordered upstairs. The Victoria Room is an ultra smooth establishment where you can find over low tables softly lit by a brigade of ambient lamps. Long louging and flush sofas and deep armchairs caught your eyes promptly. The decoration is compounded of Indian and Middle Eastern sounds fused with contemporary Western groove.

 

Hi, Maureen-my colleague had sit there and subsequently others got to, Martina-Penny's sister-in-law and Omar-Penny's mother-in-law , Anid-Chirs' good friend Paul' wife, Gina-Paul's sister-in-law, Margaret-Paul's mum. Because this was ladies get-together, males had been kicked off. Afterwards, waiter came over and let us order tea from tea menu which is full of English tea and I never heard about them at all. So I got to ask Maureen to give me some suggestion and was told Earl Grey should be a good choice. OK! Then every single one was given a small shiny steel pot according to the orders we did respectively. There was Queen Mary, Prince of Whales...

 

Then posh biscuit set with three tiers was put at our table. Wowwww! FAB!!

 

---Top tier is Sandwichs including chicken and wild herbs, cucumber, Creme Fraiche & Diff, smoked salmon, Capers...

---Second tier is assorted sweeties with sticky date pudding, mini florentine, vanilla bean cup cake....

---Bottome tier is scone and conserve

 

Everyone liked the biscuits and all had the first time to experience High tea. Can you imagine how happy we were to enjoy tea and sweeties and talking freely?

 

Finally it was time to give Penny gifts for her baby coming. Sorry, I didn't notice what presents were unwrapped as I answered the phone from Hebe. What a pity!

 

It took 2 and half hours and brought us wonderful time indeed.

 

NB: I didn't take heaps of pics but Penny will share me with the photos she took. She is a good photographer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yippee!Woo-Hoo! I successfully learnt to how to roll out dumpling wrappers just now under the instruction of my in laws. No wonder, I am a quick learner. Ahha...

What a coincidence! Phil and Chris have the same day of birth but one year difference and they were born on 17th March, which got Penny and me so surprised. I have to say they have some in common, e.g. appearance and character....

我心里一阵糊涂,小姑娘今天是怎么了,得失意症了吗?怎么连我的名字全忘了?恩..........

Gosh!终于明白了!原来她是问这个，我一点没意识到，呵呵........

Samshed Crab,应该算不上OZ slang,只是一种很informal的表达，就是我已经这人非常Spastic. why?最近发生太多事情，公司的人事变动，Kate休假6周，Paul临时代理，于是Andrew代理trainer,Max走了，Verena升职做了ISO，我要去做Verena的事情.....这些变动搞得clients非常费解，我们的工作也是乱七八遭，大家不知道what is everyone doing?

 

另外，我的工作计划也是已失败告终，无论是in house or out of house....

 

上课，按时出席，不知说的什么，同学都有工作经验，只有我非往这门里挤，老师3个小时的课能讲2小时就不错，对那些terms也不会进一步解释，我只好硬着头皮听，不会的问问Jessie,Stephanie,今天发现Michill也是个好老师...

 

家里也乱了，好多重大事情需要决策，可谁也不知往哪走，众说云云，又没主意。
